Analytics plugins and metrics
See supported integrations, choose more than one plugin per site, and understand differences between their reports.
UpdatedSupported integrations
Independence Hub connects to analytics already collected on your WordPress sites. Use the plugins that suit each site, then bring their aggregate reports into one private dashboard.
Currently supported: Independent Analytics, WP Statistics, Burst Statistics. An integration must be supported by the installed connector and active on the WordPress site before you can approve it.
Add and switch plugins
The selection is saved to your Hub account. Each site counts once toward your plan and portfolio totals, regardless of how many plugins you approve. The Hub keeps each plugin’s reports and caches separate, so switching sources does not add overlapping traffic together.
- Install and activate a supported analytics plugin and Independence Hub Connector 1.9.0 or newer on the WordPress site.
- In the Hub, choose Add site for a new connection. For an existing site, open its three-dot menu and choose Manage analytics plugins (Reconnect / manage plugins if disconnected).
- On the WordPress approval screen, check the Hub account, select one or more active analytics plugins, and approve the connection.
- Back on Dashboard, sites with one connected plugin show its name as plain text. Sites with multiple approved plugins show an Analytics plugin select to switch reports, with the connected plugin names below it.
Compare available metrics
Each source keeps its own definitions and recorded history. WP Statistics counts visitors by day and measures its bounce rate from single-page daily visits; those values are not interchangeable with Independent Analytics sessions. Burst Statistics Free 3.7.4 provides all reports listed here. Burst totals use its visitor identities and session-start counting; daily session points count sessions with a page view on that day, so their sum can differ from the period total. Its duration uses summed recorded page time per session, and its new/returning split uses each session’s recorded first-visit flag. Compare a plugin with its own preceding period, and compare the same source and dates when checking figures in WordPress.
| Report or metric | Independent Analytics | WP Statistics | Burst Statistics |
|---|---|---|---|
| Page views and daily traffic | Tracked | Tracked | Tracked |
| Visitors | Plugin-reported visitors | Daily visitors | Plugin-reported visitors |
| Sessions | Tracked | Not tracked by this plugin | Tracked |
| Average session duration | Tracked | Not tracked by this plugin | Recorded page time per session |
| New vs. returning sessions | Tracked | Not tracked by this plugin | Recorded first-visit flag |
| Bounce rate | Session bounces | Single-page daily visits | Burst session bounce flag |
| Top pages, countries, devices, and sources | Supported | Supported | Supported |
| Ranges and comparisons | 7, 28, 30, and 90 days | 7, 28, 30, and 90 days | 7, 28, 30, and 90 days |
Understand “Not tracked by this plugin”
This label means the selected integration does not collect an equivalent metric. It is separate from a connection error, and the Hub does not substitute an estimate or zero.
For WP Statistics, sessions, average session duration, and new/returning sessions use this label. Select page views or visitors for Growth rules and targets. If any included source does not track sessions, portfolio and printable-report session totals show the label instead of a partial sum.
Which plugin does each workspace use?
Growth cards identify their saved plugin. Changing a journal event’s site, plugin, or event date clears its retained comparison and recalculates it; title and note edits preserve the evidence. Adding a plugin to a site does not rewrite existing Growth items.
| Workspace | Analytics source |
|---|---|
| Dashboard and detailed reports | The plugin selected on that site’s dashboard card. |
| Insights and printable reports | Each site’s current dashboard selection; every site is counted once. |
| Growth rules, targets, and journal events | The plugin chosen when the item is saved, independently of dashboard switches. |
